a) Information You Provide

Modern Notepad does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the core notepad features. The notes and text you write are stored locally in your browser using localStorage and are never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly connect your Google Drive account.

b) Google Account Information (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google to enable Drive sync, we access the following information through the Google OAuth2 API:

• Your Google profile name and profile picture (displayed in the app header)
• Your Google Drive access (limited to files created by Modern Notepad only — specifically the file zen_backup.json)

We do not access your Gmail, contacts, calendar, or any other Google services. We do not store your Google credentials on any server. Your OAuth token is stored only in your browser's sessionStorage and is cleared when you log out or close the browser session.

c) Automatically Collected Information

Like most websites, Modern Notepad may automatically collect certain technical data when you visit, including:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Device type and operating system
• Referring URL and pages visited
• Date and time of visit

This information is collected through Google's Blogger platform and standard web server logs. It is used solely for security monitoring and improving the website.

d) Cookies

Modern Notepad uses localStorage (not traditional cookies) to save your notes, theme preference, and active folder/note state on your device. We do not use tracking cookies of our own. However, third-party services such as Google AdSense and Google Analytics (if enabled) may place cookies on your device. 2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Modern Notepad service
• To sync your notes to your Google Drive when you have enabled this feature

3. Data Storage and Security

Your notes are stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. When Google Drive sync is enabled, your notes are stored as a JSON file in your personal Google Drive account under the filename zen_backup.json. Rynosoft Technologies does not maintain any database of user notes on its own servers.

We implement security measures within the application including:

• XSS (Cross-Site Scripting) detection and blocking
• AES-256 encryption for password-protected shared notes
• Automatic idle session lock after 5 minutes of inactivity
• Full data wipe on logout (local storage and session tokens cleared)

4. Third-Party Services

Modern Notepad integrates with the following third-party services:

Google APIs

We use the Google Identity Services API for OAuth2 authentication and the Google Drive API v3 for note synchronization. Google's use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics collects information anonymously and reports website trends. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
